Entrepreneur, Father, Husband, Veteran but still just a Black Man

With everything going on in the world right now, the long title was necessary. SO, about the title, I am an entrepreneur, I own my own gym and personal training company. I am a father of 4. 2 boys and 2 girls. I am a husband, my beautiful wife is a fellow entrepreneur. I am also a veteran, 14yrs U.S Army.

Having said all of that, at the end of the day, the world proves to me that I am still just a black man. It proves to me that cops can pull me over and make so I know and they know that I know, the reason was for the color of my skin. They can kill my people, on multiple cameras, give any reason for it and then make it so that somehow it is our fault.

The world makes it so that only selected parts of our history is told. Our kids need to know that our history DOES NOT start with slavery. So, us as parents are left to tell our history that the schools won’t. We will tell our children that we were kings and queens way before the ones that are taught in the schools.

We, as a people, will show our children how to own businesses. We do not need to always go to a 4 year college, drown in debt and then work for minimum wages for the rest of our lives to pay that debt off. They’re are other options and we will show the how. We, as parents, will explain that the reason we are so hated is that our blood is royal blood. Our, as a people, strength is stronger than any other peoples strength. The only reason we are in the position that we are in, is because we, as a people, have yet to come together, as a people.

Since the world cannot conquer us, as a people, it chose to divide and conquer. That tactic has worked for many many years now but it needs to end. The only reason it is still effective, is that we have yet to challenge it as a people, together. Of course, the powers that be, will not do the right thing, it would negatively affect them, so why would they. Also, it is not their job to, it is ours, as a people, as parents, as guardians. I am doing my part, as I see fit but I need help. I want/ need us to come together the same way every other community comes together, as a people.

I used “as a people” a lot in the article. This was intentional, I want to get people to understand how important it is for us to move together, as a people for the sake of our past, present and future. Hopefully things get better but I do not want to thing that it will without work from us. We need to come together and come together NOW.
